Health and Security
Mandatory vaccinations before departure depend on the conditions of your stay. We advise you to make an appointment with your doctor to update your vaccinations. For any type of stay, consider making the hepatitis A and B vaccine. Vaccination against Japanese Encephalitis and Rabbies may be necessary in the case of a stay in a rural area. Basic hygiene rules and usual food precautions will preserve you from most issues you could meet in the country.
Regarding security in Vietnam, there are no concerns. It’s advisable to pay attention to your valuables and not to leave them in evidence and unattended.
Tourists are often approached by traders, souvenir sellers, motorcycle taxis, often with insistence, but without being nasty. Simply reject their offer gently if you do not need it. The only real danger is circulation. It’s the law of the strongest, or at least the cleverest. Ask for advice when you arrive at the premises to have the best techniques to cross the road.
